Salting and ice control

Salting costs $15 to $25 per application for a driveway, or $15 for a walk on its own. Salt melts ice down to about 15°F; below that we switch to sand for traction.

What is included

How it works

  1. Add salting to any quote, or request it alone before a freeze.
  2. We spread after clearing so the salt works on bare pavement, not on top of snow.
  3. Seasonal customers can add ice management for the whole season at a flat price.

Good to know

  • Rock salt is rough on concrete less than one season old and on some stone pavers. Tell us and we will use sand or a safer melt.

Questions

Is salt bad for my concrete?

Rock salt can scale new concrete that is under a year old, and de-icers with chlorides can mark some pavers. We can use sand or a gentler product on request.
