Snow plowing questions and answers
Pricing
How much does driveway plowing cost?
Per storm, a one-car driveway starts at $55, two cars $70, and three cars or 75 ft+ $95, for storms of up to 6 in. Deeper storms cost more (about 1.5x at 6 to 12 in). The quote calculator shows your exact number instantly.
Snow Pass or pay per storm?
The Snow Pass (seasonal contract) is a flat $425 to $750 for the 2026–27 season depending on driveway size, covering up to 12 pushes of up to 6 in. It breaks even at about 8 pushes, puts you first in line, and means no surprise bills. Pay-per-storm is best if you travel in winter or have a short driveway.
How does the seasonal deposit work?
A $100 deposit holds your spot for the 2026–27 season and comes off the total. The balance is due December 1. We take at most 40 seasonal homes so service stays quick.
Do you charge extra for heavy or deep snow?
Yes. Storms of 6 to 12 in are about 1.5x the base price and storms of 12 in or more start at 2x and are confirmed by text. Heavy, wet snow adds $15.
Service
When will you plow after the storm?
We start when the snow stops and work through pass holders first. We do not promise a clock time, because storms and routes vary, but you get a text when we start and when we finish.
What snow depth triggers a plow?
2 in or more per storm for pay-per-storm customers and 2 in for seasonal contracts. Under that, text us and we will come out for the minimum visit if you want it done.
How does the photo markup work?
On the quote page, upload a photo of your driveway and draw on it with your finger. Yellow is where to clear, green is where snow can pile, and red is no-go. We get the marked-up image with your request and plow to it.
Why is the number of passes limited?
Seasonal spots are capped at 40 homes so every pass holder can be served quickly after a storm. When the spots are gone, we stop taking new passes.
Do you plow in Melrose and nearby towns?
Yes. We serve Melrose and 42 nearby towns north of Boston, from Cambridge and Lowell to Marblehead and Topsfield. See the towns list for the full coverage.
Are you insured?
Insurance details will be listed here before the first storm of the season. We will not claim coverage we do not have.
Policies
What if it keeps snowing after you plow?
Second visits for the same storm are $25 when more than 6 in falls after the first pass. Seasonal contracts count each visit toward the 12-push cap.
Can you plow if there are cars in the driveway?
We plow around parked cars and clear what we can reach. Moving cars out the night before gets you the best result, and during a town parking ban the street side may be plowed by the town first.
How do I pay?
Per-storm customers are billed after the visit. Seasonal customers pay the deposit when they reserve and the balance on the due date. The deposit is paid online by card at checkout.
