Per push or seasonal snow plowing: which costs less north of Boston
A seasonal pass costs less than paying per push once you need about 8 plows. Per push suits you if you are away a lot or want help only for big storms.
A pass is a pre-paid bundle of plows. Per push means you pay each time we plow.
The numbers, side by side
| Driveway | Per push | Season pass | Pass wins after |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 car | $55 | $425 | 8 plows |
| 2 cars | $70 | $550 | 8 plows |
| 3 cars or 75 ft+ | $95 | $750 | 8 plows |
Per-push prices are for storms up to 6 inches. The pass covers up to 12 plows. The break-even is about 8 plows at every size.
Three example winters, 2-car driveway
| Winter | Plows | Per push | Season pass |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mild | 5 | $350 | $550 |
| Average | 10 | $700 | $550 |
| Heavy | 15 | $1,050 | $760 |
These plow counts are examples, not a forecast. Nobody knows ahead of time how many plows a winter needs. A pass over 12 plows bills the extra at the per-push price. Try your own numbers in the calculator.
What "up to 12 plows" means
Each time we plow after the 2-inch trigger counts as one plow. If it snows past 12 plows, the next ones cost the per-push price for your driveway. The pass is a flat price, so it does not change if you use fewer than 12. That is why the break-even matters: choose the pass if you expect 8 or more.
Choose the pass if
- You need the driveway clear before work
- You want to be plowed first after a storm
- You want one bill and no surprises
- You live here most of the winter
Choose per push if
- You are away for weeks at a time
- You shovel small storms yourself
- You are not sure you will need us
What to ask any plow company
- How many inches before you come?
- What does one price cover: one visit, one storm, up to how many inches?
- What happens after the cap, and in a very big storm?
- Who is plowed first, and do I get a text when it is done?
Not sure? Get a per-storm price, see all prices or reserve a pass. The deposit comes off the total either way.

If you travel most of the winter, have a very short driveway you can shovel yourself, or only want help for big storms.
What happens after 12 plows on a pass?
Plows after the 12th are billed at the per-plow price for your driveway size.
Do per-push customers get plowed after pass holders?
Yes. Pass holders are plowed first.
Does the price change with snow depth?
