| Everett | Everett has no all-winter overnight ban. When the police chief declares a parking ban, cars may park only on the even-numbered side of the street in even-numbered years (odd side in odd years, snow season Nov 1 to Mar 31; the city says even side for 2026). Parking is not allowed on the main arteries (Broadway, Chelsea St, Ferry St and others the city lists). Cars on the wrong side or on an artery can be ticketed and towed. Residents with a parking sticker may use city lots during a ban. Fine amounts not read. | The owner of land or a building next to a sidewalk must clear it, to at least 36 inches wide, within 12 hours of the city formally ending the snow emergency. The city guide says fines may be issued but gives no amount, and waivers are available for older residents and people who cannot shovel. | The city uses flashing blue lights on main roads, its website and social media, robo-calls to registered residents, and Everett Community Television. - Parking
- The Director of Public Works declares snow emergencies. The city's winter parking page bans parking on both sides of listed emergency arteries (for example Broadway, Washington Ave, Fourth St, Eastern Ave) when 2 inches or more of snow or ice has built up or a snow emergency exists, until city crews clear the street to within 12 inches of the curb. Restrictions often stay on after the snow stops so plows can widen streets. A 2026 storm notice reported an alternate-side version of this rule, so check the city before each storm. Check with the town.
- Sidewalks
- Property owners and tenants must clear abutting sidewalks within 24 hours after the snow stops, to a width of at least 24 inches. The city snow page does not state a fine; check with the city for the penalty.
- Alerts
- When a snow emergency is declared, blue lights at key intersections flash, residents on the Resident Alert System get a recorded phone message, and the city posts on its website, social media and the city cable channel. Link

Winthrop
- Parking
- The Public Works Director may declare a Snow Emergency Parking Ban before a plowable storm; cars must be off most streets by the stated time or can be ticketed and towed. Winthrop Shore Drive is a state road with its own schedule.
- Sidewalks
- The owner or tenant of property next to a sidewalk must remove snow and ice. The town ordinance PDF (as summarized) allows snow to stay no more than 6 hours between sunrise and sunset, with fines of $25, $50 and $100 for the first, second and third offense. Snow from a sidewalk or drive may not be put in the street.
